Prasai-led campaign to continue at Sifal following denial of permission at Tinkune

KATHMANDU: The ‘Nation, Nationality, Religion-Culture, and Citizen Rescue Campaign,’ spearheaded by medical entrepreneur and activist Durga Prasai, is set to continue at Sifal ground in Kathmandu.

After the inaugural mass demonstration by Prasai supporters at Balkhu on Thursday, attempts to stage a similar campaign at Tinkune were thwarted by local authorities on Friday, citing a lack of permission.

The decision to shift the campaign to Sifal comes in response to the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, denying permission for demonstrations at Tinkune. Authorities expressed concerns that such activities near the international airport could impact airport operations and pose security challenges.

Rajanand Mandbya, assistant spokesperson of the campaign, announced on social media that the campaign will commence at 11 am on Saturday at Sifal ground.

Despite facing obstacles, Prasai and supporters remain resolute in their mission, emphasizing the importance of their cause despite administrative challenges.
