Raut compares Acharya’s self-immolation with Bouziji’s and warns of protest outbreak

KATHMANDU: Janamat Party Chairman Dr. CK Raut has compared Prem Acharya’s self-immolation to Mohammed Bouziji’s and warns of  the protest outbreak provided the issues raised by immolation are not addressed on time.

The death of Acharya, who set himself on fire in front of the parliament building in Naya Baneshwar on Tuesday afternoon, has expressed concern that like the Arab revolution brought about by the self-immolation of Bouziji, the revolution might outbreak in Nepal as well.

“It is not easy to predict whether the self-immolation of Prem Acharyaji will lead to a revolution in Nepal against corruption, dictatorship and bureaucracy like the Arab revolution brought about by the self-immolation of Mohammad Bouziji; however, this country has reached the point where citizens are not starving indescribably,” he said.

Acharya set himself on fire on Tuesday. He died while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu.
