RSP Chair Lamichhane lambasts govt’s restrictive approach

BIRGUNJ: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane voiced his concern over the government’s restrictive approach during the Durga Prasai-led movement.

During a gathering in Madhes, he emphasized the importance of anyone being able to advocate for the concerns of the people.

The RPP Chair highlighted that the Constitution grants the right to peacefully protest against perceived injustices.

He remarked, “Everyone is finding diverse ways to express themselves, conducting various programs. Their voices should not be silenced when it comes to addressing people’s grievances. Our chosen paths may differ, and that’s acceptable.”

Lamichhane stressed, “Those speaking up for the victims of usury, microfinance, or cooperatives, regardless of their background or approach, deserve the state’s respect. The state should not inhibit their right to voice concerns or demonstrate against perceived injustices. The era of suppressing dissent won’t endure. Persist in highlighting issues that matter to the people. We advocate for embracing this system through peaceful electoral processes.”
