WHO reports alarming 52% surge in global COVID-19 cases over the past month



KATHMANDU: The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a concerning statement, revealing a staggering 52% increase in global COVID-19 cases in the last four weeks.

Within this period, the world witnessed 3,000 deaths attributed to the virus, and hospital admissions for COVID-19 reached 118,000, with 1,600 patients undergoing treatments in Intensive Care Units (ICUs).

As of December 17, the total global COVID-19 cases stand at a daunting 772 million, resulting in seven million fatalities.

The WHO underscores the urgency of continued vigilance and adherence to COVID-19 protocols, urging individuals worldwide to prioritize safety measures to mitigate the ongoing threat.
