By-election sees around 60 percent turnout

The by-election for the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) concluded in three constituencies in a peaceful and enthusiastic atmosphere on Sunday- with around 60 per cent votes cast, according to the Election Commission of Nepal. Details of votes cast are being entered into the Election Commission’s information system at present.

Nepal recorded a total of 81 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Sunday. Of the confirmed cases, 41 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 40 through the Antigen method.

Four percent children deprived of immunization, weeklong campaign from April 24

Four percent of children in Nepal are deprived of immunizations. According to Child Health and Immunization Section at the Family Welfare Division, Ministry of Health and Population, children mainly who work in brick kilns and other factories and who suffer prolonged illness largely face obstructions to having access to vaccines. This four percent of the child population is not immunized at all.
