NA directs Education Ministry for timely supply of textbooks



KATHMANDU: The National Assembly, Sustainable Development and Good Governance Committee has directed the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to ensure that the school textbooks would be supplied to all schools and students in time in the next school year.

Committee’s president Prakash Pantha called the serious attention of the Ministry to ensure the textbooks reach the hands of the students and schools well within time in the next academic session.

Pantha issued this directive following discussions with the Education Minister and the Ministry’s office-bearers in the Committee’s meeting today.

Before this, the Ministry officials presented a work plan regarding printing of the school textbooks and expressed commitment that there would be no shortage of textbooks in the next academic year.

Education Minister Shishir Khanal on the occasion pledged that the Ministry is aware of the fact that the students should not suffer injustice in the lack of textbooks and it would ensure the timely supply of the textbooks.
