KMC warns schools against coercing students into purchasing festival dresses



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has issued a stern warning, threatening actions against schools that compel students to buy new dresses for festival celebrations in addition to their regular uniforms.

The metropolis took this stance following complaints received regarding schools mandating students to purchase special dresses for festival occasions.

In an official notice, the KMC urges schools not to enforce the purchase of festival dresses beyond the standard uniforms. The notice explicitly states that strict actions will be taken against any school found violating these directives, in accordance with existing laws.

This cautionary notice comes at a time when festivals like Christmas and New Year are approaching.
