I have no intention to engage in political activism: President Paudel

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel made his stance clear during the all-party meeting held on Tuesday, emphasizing that his intention was not to engage in political activism, as alleged by CPN-UML.

The main opposition party, CPN-UML, chose not to participate in the all-party meeting convened by President Paudel.

However, other influential parties from both the ruling coalition and the opposition, along with independent parliamentarians, took part in the meeting.

“I am not pursuing activism through the convening of this all-party meeting,” stated President Paudel.

“I am an individual who has endured significant hardships for the cause of democracy. Hence, my concern lies solely with the well-being of the nation.”

The objective behind President Paudel’s initiative of hosting an all-party meeting was to find solutions to the ongoing deadlock in the Parliament, sources claimed.

Prior to this, President Paudel held discussions with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli, and Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane at Shital Niwas, where the country’s political developments were thoroughly deliberated upon.
