Maintenance of East-West Highway in Kanchanpur begins



KANCHANPUR: Maintenance of the Kanchanpur-Kailali road section along the East-West Highway has begun.

The re-maintenance of potholes on the road is being carried out through contract bidding.

Information Officer at the Road Division Office, Mahendranagar, Taranath Sigdel, shared repair related works have made progress by dividing the highway’s Kailali and Kanchanpur roads into two sections.

According to him, maintenance of roads from Lamki to Attariya and from Kanla Bridge to Gaddachauki is taking place through bidding.

As informed, maintenance is being carried out in the 80-km road stretch in Kailali and 20-km in Kanchanpur area.

“The contract was out in a way to complete road maintenance works in three months”, he said, adding, “Mid-January is the deadline for the stipulated works”.

Likewise, a contract of Rs 70 million was signed for asphalt overlay along the 19-km stretch from Chisapani to Lamki.
