Judicial Council recommends six names for appointment as Supreme Court judges

KATHMANDU: The Judicial Council has recommended six names for appointment as Supreme Court (SC) judges.

A meeting of the council held on Tuesday recommended the appointment of six apex court judges.

The Council recommended Saranga Subedi, Mahesh Sharma Paudel, Tek Prasad Dhungana, Balkrishna Dhakal, Sunil Pokharel and Abdul Azid Muslim as judges.

Among the recommended names, four including Subedi, Paudel, Dhungana and Muslim are from the High Court Judges and two Dhakal and Pokharel from senior advocates.

Earlier, Chief Justice Bishowambhar Prasad Shrestha had called an informal meeting of the the Council on Tuesday afternoon to discuss on the names.
