One dead, one injured after falling from house roof in Jhapa



JHAPA: A tragic accident occurred in Bhadrapur Municipality-6, Sangam Chowk, when two people fell from the roof of a two-storey house during demolition, leaving one dead and another injured, police said.

According to District Police Office spokesperson Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, the deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Oppen Rajbanshi, a resident of Bhadrapur Municipality-5, Rajanchowk. The injured, 35-year-old Dharmendra Yadav from the same ward, was hospitalized after the incident.

The accident took place while the roof beam of the house belonging to Radha Karki, deputy head of Bhadrapur Municipality, collapsed during demolition.

Both Rajbanshi and Yadav were immediately taken to Omsai Pathibhara Hospital in Bhadrapur, where doctors declared Rajbanshi dead. Yadav is currently receiving treatment at the same facility.
