Nepal sets massive 311 runs target against Oman



KATHMANDU: With Kushal Malla’s outstanding innings of 108 runs, Nepal set a massive 311 runs target against Oman in the match undergoing ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2023 being played at TU Cricket Stadium, Kirtipur, Kathmandu.

Malla scored 108 runs off 64 balls. He challenged the boundary with nine fours and ten sixes on Friday.

Similarly, Sompal Kami scored a half-century for Nepal. He scored 63 runs off 48 balls. He hit nine fours.

Similarly, Bhim Sarki scored 33, Aarif Sheikh and Karan KC scored 29 each whereas captain Rohit Paudel scored 23 runs.

For Oman, Ayan Khan took two wickets, and Vilal Khan, Kalimullah, Jeesham Maqsood, Fayaz Butt, Kabi Ilyas, and Jatinder Singh took one wicket each.

Soon Oman will bat to chase the target of 311 runs.

This is Nepal’s second match in the ACC Premier Cup. Earlier, Nepal defeated Malaysia by 6 wickets on April 18.

In another match undergoing in Mulpani based Cricket Stadium, Hong Kong has posted 263 runs losing 8 wickets on top of Anshuman Rath’s century against the UAE.

Nepal is in Group A with Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia as other members in the group. Similarly, Group B has Bahrain, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Singapore, and UAE.

The winning team of the ACC Premier Cup will be eligible to play in the Asia Cup to be held in September in Pakistan.
