Sudurpaschim clinches Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s National T20 Cricket title

The Sudurpaschim Province has won the title of the Prime Minister’s Cup Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament held today at Janata School Stadium in Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City.

Sudurpaschim won the title by defeating home team Province No. 1 by 6 wickets in the final match held today.

Sudurpaschim met the victory target of 102 runs set by Province No. 1 with one ball still remaining in the full quota of 20 overs.

Govt committed to ensure access to all sources of nutrition: PM Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the government was committed to ensuring an access of all sources of nutrition including protein by reducing poverty rate.

At a prize distribution to the winners of ‘Right to Protein Run’ half marathon’ organized in Kathmandu on Saturday, Prime Minister Dahal mentioned that general people are still deprived of nutrition sources in Nepal despite the government’s relentless efforts.

Black box of crashed plane to be taken to France

The black box of ATR-72 Yeti Airlines aircraft that crashed in Pokhara on January 15 is being sent to France to the aircraft manufacturer for technical analysis.

Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and member-secretary of Air Crash Investigation Commission Budhisagar Lamichhane shared that the black box of the aircraft is being sent to France, along with experts.

RSP’s Indira Ranamagar elected HoR Deputy Speaker

Indira Ranamagar, leader of ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), is now the official Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR).

Ranamagar was elected as the HoR Deputy Speaker on Saturday.

Out of the total 264 lawmakers present on Saturday, Ghimire got 166 votes from lawmakers of CPN-UML, Maoist Center, Rastriya Swatantra Party, RSP, Janata Samajwadi Party, Janamat Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party, and the independent lawmakers.

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has said that he was aware of the promises made while asking for votes with the people.

Taking to Facebook on Saturday, Home Minister Lamichhane said, “I am well aware of the promises I have made with the people.”

Janamat party will decide on ruling coalition support by Sunday: Minister Khan

Janamat Party lawmaker and Minister without portfolio Abdur Khan said his party would decide whether to continue the support to government or discard it by Sunday.

Speaking to reporters at the Parliament Building premises in New Baneshwar on Saturday, he said that the ruling coalition parties have assured that their (Janamat Party’s) demands will be met by tomorrow.
