JHAPA: Police have apprehended two in possession of illegal drug brown sugar in Jhapa. The arrest took place on Saturday afternoon at Mechipul and Sukumbasi Tol.
The arrested are 20-year-old Rohit Kumar Podar from Mechinagar-10, Dhulabari, and 29-year-old Kamala Raut from Shivasatakshi Municipality-1.
Rohit was arrested by a team from the Narcotics Control Bureau Kankarvitta at Mechinagar-6, Mechipul, with 3.3 grams of brown sugar. Additionally, a joint team from Police Station Taghandubba and BOP Taghandubba apprehended Kamala Raut on the way to Sukumbasi Tol in Jhapa-4, in possession of 1.770 grams of brown sugar.
The police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
