KATHMANDU: A Bill to amend the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Powers and Procedures) Act, 2010 first time has been presented in a session of the House of Representatives (HoR), the lower house of the Federal Parliament, today.

Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, on behalf of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, tabled the Bill in a session of the HoR today.

Likewise, HoR Rule Drafting Committee member Ramesh Lekhak presented a proposal seeking consideration over the committee report- 2079 BS and the proposal was accepted by the sitting unanimously. It was tabled on behalf of Committee president Chitra Bahadur KC.

The meeting also endorsed a proposal to consider about ‘Monitoring and Assessment Bill, 2078 BS’ obtained from the National Assembly along with a message. It was endorsed by the majority and was not presented in the previous meeting due to a lack of quorum.

At the end of the meeting, Speaker Devraj Ghimire apprised the House of the schedule of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to seek a vote of confidence in a session taking place on tomorrow Monday.

The lower house shall meet again at 1:00 pm of March 20.
