Karnali govt forms taskforce for youth employment



KARNALI: The first Cabinet meeting of the Karnali provincial government has formed a taskforce to make a plan for youth employment.

The meeting chaired by Chief Minister of the province Raj Kumar Sharma at the Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers formed the five-member taskforce coordinated by Shyam Krishna Thapa, Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning.

Under the plan, every year, 10,000 unemployed youths from the province would get job opportunities.

The taskforce has been given a 30 days’ timeframe to draw roadmap and make action plan for self-employments through employment opportunities under the prosperous Karnali campaign, said CM Sharma.

Members of the taskforce are secretaries of the Office of Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, and the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, while administrative chief of the Karnali Province Planning Commission is member-secretary.

Upon assuming office, CM Sharma unveiled his plan to create 10,000 employment opportunities to unemployed youths ever year.
