Tribhuvan University’s 49th convocation witnesses 12,415 graduates



KATHMANDU: An occasion unfolded at Dasarath Stadium in Tripureshwar as Tribhuvan University (TU) celebrated its 49th convocation ceremony, where 12,415 students were conferred degrees across various faculties and academic levels.

The ceremony, graced by the presence of President Ram Chandra Poudel and Prime Minister, as well as Chancellor Pushpa Kamal Dahal, marked a milestone for the graduates from the university.

Out of the 74,749 students listed in the 61st grace list of the TU, a notable 12,415 applied to participate in the convocation ceremony.

Among them, 8,098 students received their Bachelor’s degrees, 4,104 attained Master’s degrees, 44 were honored with MPhil degrees, and 112 were awarded Bachelor’s degrees in various disciplines.

Comparatively, this year’s convocation witnessed an increase in participation, with 12,415 students taking part, as opposed to the previous year’s count of 10,300.

Dr. Bhusal reiterated the university’s commitment to not only providing quality education but also fostering entrepreneurship, acknowledging the challenges faced by graduates in securing employment within the country.
