Free health services at doorsteps in Raskot



KALIKOT: Raskot Municipality of Kalikot has provided free health services to its folks.

The municipality has come up with the service delivery through the ‘Mayor Health Care Program’.

As part of the initiative, the municipality has reached out to the doorsteps of the locals to provide free of cost health services.

Mayor Dharma Raj Shahi shared that the municipality has been freely providing services such as health check-up of pregnant women, distribution of old-age social security allowance and medicines to senior citizens and patients with asthma, diabetes and high blood pressure reaching to their doorsteps.

“We have been delivering integrated public services at the doorsteps of the local residents”, he shared, adding, “SMS alert service is being provided to lactating mothers and pregnant women within the municipality”.

Health insurance of senior citizens and the people with disabilities has been done, the municipality informed.

All citizens have come under the reach of health insurance, the mayor claimed.

“The municipality itself has arranged insurance for the economically weak and disadvantaged as well as the senior citizens”, Shahi said.

As many as 10,000 of the population have so far received health related services under the ‘Mayor Health Care Program’, the municipality shared.
