Yeti aircraft crash: Post-mortem of bodies to start today



KATHMANDU: The post-mortem of the bodies of those killed in the crash of the Yeti Airlines plane (ATR-72) in Pokhara last Sunday would be performed on the bodies on Wednesday.

The bodies have been kept at the moratorium of Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

As the task of counseling the families and relatives of the deceased was done on Tuesday, the post-mortem procedure could not be started, the TUTH sources said.

As informed, the bodies would be handed over to the families and relatives after body identification and examination.

According to Yeti Airlines, 71 out of the 72 passengers and crew members have been confirmed dead in the air crash and a search for the missing one is underway.

Yeti Airlines said that 48 bodies retrieved from the crash site in the Seti River gorge of Pokhara were brought to Kathmandu today.
