According to sources, Bharat Shah from Tikapur Municipality, has tragically lost his life in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, marking the seventh casualty among Nepali nationals in the ongoing conflict.

Bharat’s demise, reported a few days ago, plunged his family into deep sorrow as they mourned the loss. In a heartfelt tribute, Bharat’s family fashioned a symbolic body using Kush grass and conducted his cremation rituals on Sunday.

According to Bharat’s elder brother, Birkha, Roshan Thapa, Bharat’s fellow soldier, relayed the news that Bharat was fatally shot on November 26. “Thapa shared the heartbreaking information with his wife,” Birkha revealed.

Having previously worked as a police officer, Bharat had moved to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on August 15, serving as a security guard before joining the Russian Army from the UAE.

He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son, mourning the unexpected loss.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had earlier confirmed the deaths of six other Nepali citizens serving in the Russian Army during their involvement in the conflict against Ukraine.

Sandip Thapaliya, Rupak Karki, Devan Rai, Pritam Karki, Rajkumar Roka, and Gangaraj Moktan were among those who lost their lives while actively participating in the conflict on behalf of the Russian army against Ukraine.
