Youth in Jhapa arrested on charge of cyber crime



DAMAK: Police have arrested a youth from Kamal rural municipality-1 of Jhapa district on the charge of misusing social networking site cum social media by creating a fake Facebook ID.

Police arrested Binod Thapa three days ago on the complaint at the Area Police Office at Jhiljhile for allegedly posting various unlawful and illegitimate posts on the social networking sites through the fake Facebook.

Investigation into the case is underway, informed DSP Khagendra Prasad Rijal at the District Police Office in Jhapa.

Arrested Thapa is also serving as the Chairperson of a Children’s Club network in the locality.

Police, however, have not disclosed anything about his fake Facebook ID.

Meanwhile, police arrested 15 gamblers red-handed at Gauradaha in the district.

Acting on a tip-off, police held them from the house of Yuwaraj Khadka at 3:00 am today.

Police seized over Rs 100,000 and cards as well as dice, informed DSP Rijal, adding that investigation was taken forward by taking them in custody.
