Gang rape of girl in Biratnagar, 3 transport workers including a minor arrested



BIRATNAGAR: A disturbing case of a 25-year-old girl being subjected to a gang rape has shocked Biratnagar residents.

Following swift action, police apprehended three individuals associated with the transport industry for their alleged involvement in the heinous act.

According to the victim’s report, the police arrested 43-year-old Tek Bahadur Tamang, 20-year-old Binod Chauhan, and a 16-year-old minor from Sindhuli house of Mithila Vihari Municipality-11 in Dhanusha.

Tamang, with the registration number Pradesh 24-001 B 0021, serves as the driver of the truck, while Chauhan operates as the co-driver.

Additionally, the 16-year-old boy is identified as the co-driver of another truck.

Offering details about the incident, Morang police spokesperson DSP Ranjan Kumar Dahal revealed that the appalling event occurred in Biratnagar Metropolitan City-3 on Sunday morning.

The perpetrators had initially parked the trucks for the night and subsequently visited a hotel at Biratnagar Bus Park for dinner.

Upon returning to their parked location after a meal, the group traveled in a City Safari.

During this journey, as recounted by DSP Dahal, the girl was forcibly taken to the area where the truck had been parked and subjected to a harrowing ordeal of gang rape.

Authorities are currently investigating the matter further to ensure justice for the victim and to prevent such atrocities in the future.
