Property worth 22.9 million gutted in fire



BHAKTAPUR: The fire that broke out here on Sunday evening has gutted goods worth Rs 22.9 million.

In the fire, New Dajubhai, a furniture store operated by 37-year-old Bijan Chauguthi of Suryabinayak Municipality-5, Chundevi, the three-and-a-half-storey house of Bijan and adjoining Kripalu furniture factory of Pushpa Shilpkar were burnt down.

The estimated damage caused by the incident of fire was shared by the Police Range Bhaktapur.

Superintendent of Police at Bhaktapur Police Range, Prajit KC, shared that the damage caused was worth 22.9 million rupees.

The fire was completely brought under control almost three hours later at 10:30 pm with the help of Nepal Police, Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, Fire Brigade and local residents, KC said.
