24 bodies recovered from plane crash to undergo post-mortem in Pokhara

POKHARA: The post-mortem of 24 people among those killed in a plane crash of Yeti Airline in Pokhara on Sunday is to be carried out in Pokhara.

Process for the post-mortem has already begun, according to the Western Regional Hospital.

However, post-mortem of the remaining deceased would be carried out at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu. The bodies would be airlifted to Kathmandu by a helicopter, said Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Gyan Bahadur Khadka.

Preparation has been made to take the bodies of foreigners, crew members and those unidentified to Kathmandu for post-mortem.

A team comprising forensic expert arrived here from Kathmandu and has involved in the post-mortem procedures underway at the Western Regional Hospital.

An aircraft of Yeti Airlines flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara with 72 people on board crashed at Seti gorge on Sunday morning. As of now, 69 bodies were recovered while search for the missing is underway.
