KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Kedar Karki, held talks with CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli in Balkot on Sunday.
Backed by 39 MPs of UML, Karki’s meeting with Oli came merely a day after assuming his new role.
Notably, Karki’s recent visit to Kathmandu involved a prior meeting with Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala.
Having assumed the role of Chief Minister in line with Article 168 (5) of the Constitution, Karki, supported by CPN-UML, is scheduled to take his oath of office today.
In a bid to foster a cooperative coalition, Karki, who defected from the Nepali Congress party, is also poised to appoint a minister from CPN-UML, alongside a Nepali Congress MP who lent their support to his cause.
