NC holding Central Working Committee meeting today

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a meeting of its Central Working Committee this morning (Wednesday).

NC spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said that talks between the Gagan Thapa–Bishwaprakash Sharma faction and the establishment side, which were expected to take place on Tuesday, were postponed and will resume later. He said that only informal discussions were held on Tuesday.

Mahat stressed that the party must move forward strictly in line with its official decisions. “No one should act outside the party’s official decisions,” he said, adding that efforts to reach an understanding are ongoing and that the negotiation teams are working to find common ground.

Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress special general convention on Tuesday evening endorsed the reports presented by General Secretaries Thapa and Sharma. Thapa presented the contemporary political report, while Sharma presented the organizational report.
