Judicial Council recommends appointment of 27 judges to High Court, transfer of 60 judges

KATHMANDU: The Judicial Council has recommended the appointment of 27 judges to the High Court.

The council’s meeting held on Friday recommended the appointment of a judge. Among the recommended ones, six are the legal practitioners.

Advocates Achyutham Kumar Acharya, Govinda Joshi, Pundayashila Dawadi Ghimire, Purna Prasad Rajwanshi, Yagya Bahadur Rana Magar, and Arjun Maharjan have been recommended for appointment as judges.

The council meeting presided over by Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha also transferred 60 judges.

The council has decided to transfer 34 judges of the high court and 26 judges of the district court, according to the secretariat of the council.
