Thapa insists on 33 percent women participation in government

BHAKTAPUR: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Thapa has expressed his concern over the underrepresentation of women in the government.

Thapa said women’s 33 percent participation in the government should be mandated by law as in the parliament.

Speaking at a program in Bhaktapur, he urged the women community to unite and advocate for their rights and seek their rightful positions in all forums, including the government.

On the occasion, he also took time to express his concern over growing job crisis in the domestic labour market, adding that the government should take efforts to address the issue seriously.
