Police issue arrest warrant against former Home Minister Thapa’s son Pratik

KATHMANDU: The police have issued an arrest warrant against Pratik Thapa, the son of former Home Minister and UML Vice Chairman Ram Bahadur Thapa, for his alleged involvement in the fake Bhutanese Refugee case.

According to police sources, the arrest warrant has been issued on Sunday.

After the arrest of former Home Minister Thapa’s advisor Indrajit Rai, an investigation was also initiated against Pratik Thapa. An arrest warrant was issued against Thapa after finding evidence that he was also involved in it.

Earlier, Prateek had issued a statement and objected to his name being linked to the fake Bhutanese refugee case.

The police also issued an arrest warrant against former Nepali Congress lawmaker Angtawa Sherpa for the latter’s involvement in the fake refugee case.

Former Home Minister and Nepali Congress leader Balkrishna Khand has already been arrested in the same case.

Former Home Secretary Teknarayan Pandey, and Indrajit Rai are also in custody.
Despite the arrest warrant against UML Secretary Top Bahadur Rayamajhi has been absconding of late.

Niraj Rai, son of Indrajit Rai, is also absconding.
