Nepal to host T20 World Cup Qualifiers



KATHMANDU: Nepal is going to host the Asia Qualifying Tournament under the ICC T20 World Cup.

According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) sources, Nepal is going to host the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifying Tournament to be held in America and West Indies in the coming year 2024.

Durgaraj Pathak, Executive Secretary of CAN informed that the ICC has given Nepal asked Nepal to organize the Asia Qualifier under the T20 World Cup.

“ICC has given Nepal the responsibility of organizing the Asia Qualifiers of the World Cup. But we have not made it official yet. Only after the ICC officially announces that Nepal has been entrusted with the project, we will make it public,” he said.

The Asian Qualifiers of the T20 World Cup to be held in Nepal will be held from November 1 to 10 at TU Cricket Ground and Mulpani Cricket Ground.

Eight teams will participate in the Asian qualifiers for the World Cup one team from Group A and Group B will be qualified for World Cup.

A total of 20 teams will participate in the T-20 World Cup.

The ACC Premier Cup was organized in Nepal a few weeks before. 10 teams participated in the tournament and got qualified for Asia Cup.

Before this tournament, Nepal hosted the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2 series.
