SC order is not against peace accord, we should conclude remaining tasks of peace process: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the latest order from the Supreme Court has been in tune with the peace accord; hence they need not panic but have to remain alert in the days to come.

Inaugurating the Sixth National Convention of the Central Committee of the Unified All Nepal Teachers’ Organization, PM Dahal claimed that some ill-intent groups are working cunningly to annihilate the changes established through a long struggle.

He alerted all to remain vigilant against the unconstitutional and regressive forces and requested the teachers to play their best to spread public political awareness.

PM Dahal said that no power in the world can defeat them as long as they are honest with the nation and the people.

He claimed that the attempts of crooked minds to derail the peace process by misinterpreting clauses have to be foiled.

The Maoist Chairman mentioned that although the writ against the signatories of the peace accords brought commotion in the political sector it had been catalytic in bringing the Maoist forces closer.

“The case filed at SC against the leaders and signatories of the peace accord brought commotion in the politics, though the writ was ill-intent, it played a significant role in bringing the dispersed Maoist forces together,” he said, adding, ” We need not panic at the moment, however, we have to remain alert in the days ahead and take the remaining tasks of the peace process to the logical conclusion.”
