BHAKTAPUR: Rastriya Swatantra Party Chief whip Santosh Pariyar has clarified that his party would join the government immediately if the political agreement made at the time of forming the ruling coalition was maintained.

Speaking at a program at Rafat Sanchar Club in Bhaktapur, Pariyar made it clear that as per the agreement reached in the past, provided the posts of President and Speaker are given to CPN-UML, Prime Minister to CPN-Maoist Center and the Ministry of Home Affairs to RSP, his party will join Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led government.

He also claimed that the President will be selected from the ruling coalition according to the previous agreement.

RSP leader Pariyar lambasted Nepali Congress for giving a vote of confidence to Prachanda-government merely to set it in its trap.

He claimed that his party chairman Rabi Lamichhane will contest the by-elections to be held in Chitwan-2 on April 23.

Stating that the Presidents in the past were involved in one or the other controversy, Pariyar emphasized on the need to choose a neutral candidate as the next President.

Pariyar asserted that it is natural for the Nepali people to be disappointed when the dirty political process continues as in the past.

Answering a question related to RSP’s ideological stand, he said that his party is committed to safeguard democracy, social justice and inclusiveness in politics.
