Foreign Policy 2077 to be fully implemented

KATHMANDU: The National Concerns and Coordination Committee of the National Assembly (NA) has called for the complete implementation of Foreign Policy, 2077.

The Committee asked the Foreign Affairs Secretary, Bharat Raj Paudyal, for full implementation of the Policy.

Committee President Dil Kumari Rawal Thapa (Parbati) said that the discussion program was organized to do away with the obstacles that could surface in the implementation of the Policy.

During the meeting, the NA members said that Nepal’s economic diplomacy was poor and asked for provisions to give passport to the citizens from the Area Administration Offices in the hilly districts.

Likewise, the lawmakers raised the issue to address India’s decision to import power produced only from Indian investors, and concerns about the President’s message of best wishes published in the state-owned media in the military government of Myanmar without sending such message to the government there.

In response, Foreign Affairs Secretary Paudyal said officials were working to take stock of the publication of such message of the President in the state-owned newspaper of Myanmar.
