Political interference in deployment of govt employees: Minister Modi

KATHMANDU: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Amanlal Modi has pointed out political interferences in the deployment of the employees under the federal government.

Speaking in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, he identified the increasing tendency of people’s representatives at the provincial and local levels to deploy their favored employees and of the employees seeking accessible areas to work.

“The Ministry is flooded by people’s representatives asking for the deployment of their favored employees in their workplace. Not only the local level, but this trend is also rampant in the federal and provincial levels as well,” he said.

There have been challenges in managing government employees in the federal and provincial governments, he said.

He was at work to introduce a regular transfer system for civil servants in a bid to provide justice to all of them, he said, adding that the government would bring and implement the Federal Civil Service Act soon.

The Federal Civil Service Bill that has been sent to the Ministries of Law and Finance for theoretical approval will be tabled in the parliament soon, he said.

The Act is expected to resolve half the problems facing the management of government employees, he expressed hope.
