Health Ministry urges to abide by public health protocol

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has appealed to all to stay aware and alert in view of the growing cases of coronavirus infection.

Further alertness is essential because the number of infections was likely to grow for more days.

Joint Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, informed, “Current state indicates the infection will spread more for some days. So, all need to abide by public health protocol.”

Everyone is recommended to get vaccinated against the coronavirus. The virus graph is on an upward trend for some days.

On Monday alone, the Ministry recorded infection among 124 persons- out of 2,566 tests conducted.

Similarly, 29 persons got recovery from coronavirus on the same day.

The number of people with active infection has reached 444. There are 21 persons in isolation in the Kathmandu Valley while 10 are receiving treatment at ICU.

In the neighboring country, India, a new variant of omicron xbb 1.16 has spread lately.

The infection which had reduced to zero in Nepal has now increased due to the open border.
