Man killed by shrapnel fired from muzzle loader



PALPA: Dambar Bahadur Saru, 48, of Mityal Gangsingh Danda, Nisdi rural municipality-4, Palpa, died succumbing to the wounds he suffered from shrapnel when a muzzle-loader he was carrying went off accidentally.

Saru was going to his fields carrying the muzzle-loader to kill hedgehog that had come to consume the buckwheat in the field when he slipped and fell, accidentally triggering the firearm.

He was injured by shrapnel wound last night and died today morning while under treatment at Rampur Hospital, states the daily news bulletin published by Nepal Police Headquarters.

Police team mobilized from the Area Police Office, Rampur have found a muzzle-loader gun and a bag in a bush at Sapangdigaira, Nisdi-4. Further investigation is on in this connection, it is stated.
