Nepali spend Rs 119 billion on foreign trips

KATHMANDU: Nepalis who go abroad spend more than foreign tourists who come to visit Nepal of late.

According to the current economic and financial status report of the country published by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) today, Nepali people going on foreign trips have spent Rs 119.99 billion.

Compared to last year, such expenses are 37.9 percent more. During the same period last year, Nepali people spent 87.3 billion rupees on foreign trips.

During the same period, a total of Rs 58.6 billion was earned from foreign tourists visiting Nepal which is 94.3 percent more than the same period of the previous year. In the same period of last year, the income from foreign tourists was 29.88 billion rupees.

Similarly, Nepali students going to study abroad have taken out Rs 89.18 billion during the review period. During the same period last year, such expenditure was equal to Rs 59.99 billion.
