SC gives precedence in writ against PM Dahal
The Supreme Court (SC) has given priority to the writ filed against Prime Minister and CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. Hearing the case against PM Dahal, the single bench of Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada issued a show cause order in the name of the Maoist Center chairman.
No male candidates to be registered as vice-presidential candidate
The Election Commission (EC) has instructed to register the nomination of only women candidates in the vice presidential election to be held on March 17. The meeting of the commission held on Friday instructed the office of the election officer to register the candidature of only women from the non-Khas-Arya community for the vice-presidential post.
TRC should settle conflict-era cases, not courts: Maoist factions
A joint meeting of the Maoist factions has decided to hold a joint interaction and press conference regarding the events during the “People’s War” era. Deputy Secretary General of Maoist Center Janardan Sharma said that the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence Baluwatar on Friday morning decided to hold a press conference on March 12 and a joint interaction on March 14.
UML calls secretariat meeting to decide on vice presidential candidate
CPN-UML has called a central secretariat meeting to decide on the vice-presidential candidate for March 17 election. Deputy Secretary General Prithvi Subba Gurung informed that the meeting will be held at nine o’clock on Saturday morning.
Dry landslide kills one in Baglung
A person died in a dry landslide that occurred at Bareng of Baglung district today. The dead has been identified as Shuklal BK, 42, from Nishikhola Rural Municipality-6.
British State Minister Trevelyan calls on Prime Minister Dahal

Flights of Shree Airlines grounded until security checks
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has directed the Shree Airlines to ground the company’s all aircrafts until security checks of the engines. Spokesperson of the CAAN, Jagannath Niraula, said that a decision has been made to allow Shree Airlines to make flights only after a thorough check of the engines.

Govt extends campaign against elephantiasis
The government has extended the campaign against elephantiasis for five more days. Earlier, the time of medicine against elephantiasis was slated till today. Director at Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, Dr Chuman Lal Das, shared that the campaign against elephantiasis was extended by five more days.
