SC gives precedence in writ against PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has given priority to the writ filed against Prime Minister and CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Hearing the case against PM Dahal, the single bench of Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada issued a show cause order in the name of the Maoist Center chairman.

SC Spokesperson Bimal Paudel told Khabarhub that SC has ordered PM Dahal to submit a written reply within 15 days.

Earlier, a petition was filed at SC on behalf of 29 people, including advocate Gyanendraraj Aran, regarding  Maoist Center chair’s  January 15, 2020’s public statement of taking responsibility for the 5,000 people who were killed during the conflict.

The petitioner demanded that PM Dahal be arrested on criminal charges and investigated.

Earlier after the Supreme Court administration dismissed the case against Prachanda, the  division bench of  justices Ishwar Khatiwada and Hari Phuyal ordered to register the writ  against PM Dahal.
