UML agrees to end parliament obstruction

KATHMANDU: The major three parties in the parliament CPN-Maoist Center, CPN-UML and Nepali Congress (NC) have agreed to end the obstruction in the parliament.

Earlier, Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and UML Chairman KP Oli convened a meeting at Singha Durbar to address the ongoing obstruction in Parliament.

The main agenda of the discussion was finding a resolution to the parliamentary deadlock.

PM Dahal is scheduled to address the Parliament at 3 pm today.

It should be noted that the CPN-UML, the main opposition party, has been obstructing parliamentary proceedings and demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Dahal.

The obstruction began following PM Dahal’s controversial remarks made during a program in Kathmandu.

During the program, PM Dahal mentioned that Sardar Pritam Singh had repeatedly traveled to Delhi with the intention of securing Dahal’s position as Nepal’s Prime Minister.

In response to these remarks, the CPN-UML has insisted on PM Dahal’s resignation, considering his comments to be irresponsible.
