KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal’s Chairman Kamal Thapa has asserted the imminent restoration of monarchy in Nepal before 2084 BS.
During an interaction program organized by the Rafat Sanchar Club, Bhaktapur on Friday, Chairman Thapa expressed that the reinstated monarchy wouldn’t be autocratic but rather inclusive, embracing all religions and fostering egalitarianism from Maoists to traditionalists.
Thapa lambasted the system as home for corruption and loot advocating for a monarchy under the parliamentary system elected by the people. He highlighted that this would ultimately put an end to the debate about the head of state as the guardian of the nation.
While acknowledging the well-intentioned political change in 063 BS, Thapa underscored the practical failure of the federal republican system, asserting that re-establishing the monarchy is inevitable.
He iterated his party’s natural moral support for the movement to reinstate a monarchy and declare Nepal a Hindu state, firmly aligning with the movement led by entrepreneur Durga Prasai.
Thapa clarified that immediate unity with RPP is improbable at present.
