Prime Minister Dahal, Deuba and Oli meet at Singha Durbar

Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli held a meeting at Singha Durbar, Kathmandu on Saturday evening.

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat sources, the top leaders of the key political parties in the parliament met at Speaker Devraj Ghimire’s office at the latter’s initiation.

Kathmandu Mayor Sah asks police to remove illegally built structures
Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Sah, has asked the police to remove the structures built illegally on the roadside.

Sharing the illegally built structures on social media on Saturday, Mayor Sah said that the footpath should always be used for people to walk and the Metropolis has tried to ensure that no road meant for the public gets encroached upon.

Nepal sees 64 coronavirus cases in 24 hours, active cases 357

Nepal recorded 64 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Saturday.

Out of the confirmed cases, 41 were tested through the RT-PCR method and 23 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 1,170 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

Out of them, 168 swabs were tested through the RT-PCR method and 1,002 through the Antigen method.

There are 357 active cases in Nepal as 57 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

Govt has to take a loan to pay salary to employees: DPM Khadka

Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka has said that the government has been facing pressure as it has to take loans to pay salaries to the employees.

Speaking to media persons at Surkhet Airport on Saturday, the Deputy Prime Minister mentioned that the economy of the country is going through a bad situation.

“The country’s economy is becoming negative and weak, and there is a situation where we have to take loans to pay the employees,” Defense Minister Khadka said.

Garbage of Singha Durbar will not be collected from today: Balen

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah has said that the waste of Singha Darbar will not be collected from today.

Writing a status on Facebook on Saturday morning, Mayor Balen stated that the garbage of Singha Durbar will not be collected from today.

He, however, has not elaborated on or mentioned the reason behind this decision.

Chopper crashes at HAMS Hospital helipad

A helicopter has crashed at Hospital for Advanced Surgery and Medicines (HAMS) Hospital’s helipad in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu.

According to Kathmandu Police, the Air Dynasty helicopter crashed while flying from the hospital in Dhumbarahi.

“The tail of the helicopter was damaged during takeoff, there has been no casualties,” the police said, adding, “The technical team is investigating the incident.”
