KATHMANDU: In light of the upcoming Bala Chaturdashi Festival, the District Administration Office in Kathmandu has imposed a temporary ban on the selling, distribution, production and storage of meat, alcoholic products, and drugs related products in the vicinity of the Pashupatinath Temple.

The prohibition will remain in effect from today until December 13.

The restricted area encompasses the Pashupatinath Temple premises, Gaushala-Mitrapark Road, the eastern to western boundaries of the temple, Gaushala Tilganga Chakrapath Road, and Mitrapark-Umakunda-Gaurigath, including Guheshwori South.

The government has issued a stern warning of legal action against individuals who fail to comply with this order. The decision aims to ensure a sanctified and peaceful environment for the observance of the Bala Chaturdashi Festival in the specified region.
