Lalita Niwas land grab: Arrest warrants issued against five former govt Secretaries



KATHMANDU: Arrest warrants have been issued against five former government Secretaries involved in the Lalita Niwas land grab scam in Baluwatar.

The police, armed with the warrants obtained from the court, have initiated an investigation into the actions of Yuvaraj Bhusal, Deep Basnyat, Chabiraj Panta, Dinesh Hari Adhikari, and Narayan Gopal Malego, who were implicated in the decision to transfer government land in the Lalita Niwas area to private individuals.

A total of 17 former government employees are implicated in the embezzlement case involving Lalita Niwas land.

Sudhir Shah, a former joint secretary, has already been arrested by the police, while Kaladhar Deuja, the then Joint Secretary, was released following an interim court order.

The police have continued their search and investigation into the remaining suspects.

The Central Investigation Bureau of the police is conducting a thorough inquiry into the Lalita Niwas case, applying the provisions of the Civil Code 2020 and the Prevention of Organized Crime Act 2070.
