President Paudel postpones Europe trip

President Ramchandra Paudel has decided to postpone his upcoming visit to Europe. Suresh Chalise, the President’s Foreign Affairs Advisor, stated that President Paudel has chosen to postpone his overseas journey due to the ongoing rescue and relief operations for earthquake victims in the country. Originally, President Paudel was set to depart for France on November 8, with plans to subsequently visit Germany and Italy.

Earthquake jolts Jajarkot again

Jajarkot has experienced yet another earthquake, according to the National Earthquake Measurement Center. This recent seismic event, registering a magnitude of 5.8, occurred at 4:31 PM on Monday, with its epicenter located in Ramidanda, Jajarkot.

Maoist Center postpones Kathmandu-centered mass demonstration

The ruling Maoist Center party has deferred the Kathmandu-centric mass demonstration initially planned for December 8. According to Dev Gurung, the General Secretary of the Maoist Center, the decision was made in response to the recent 6.4 magnitude earthquake in Jajarkot. “Given the current circumstances, we have postponed the mass demonstration on December 8,” he said.

Ghorahi Sub-metropolis announces monetary aid for quake survivors

The Ghorahi Sub-metropolis in Dang has decided to assist Rs 1.5 million for the cause of the recent earthquake survivors in Jajarkot and Rukum West, the districts in the Karnali Province. A meeting of the municipal executive meeting on Sunday took a decision to this effect.

NTA implemented MDMS from today

The Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA) announced the launch of the Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) starting from today. Purushottam Khanal, Chairman of the Authority, said that any phones not registered within the system will be subject to immediate disconnection. In line with this implementation, the Authority has issued a notice on October 21, granting users a 15-day window to register mobile handsets that have not yet been enrolled in the MDMS.

CAAN announces Rs 10 million assistance to quake survivors

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has announced a monetary aid of Rs 10 million to the earthquake survivors in Jajarkot and Rukum West. It has decided to deposit the assistance amount to the Prime Minister Disaster Rescue Fund, according to CAAN Spokesperson and Deputy Director General, Jagannath Niraula.

NC reschedules Mahasamiti meeting

The Nepali Congress (NC) has rescheduled the date of the Mahasamiti meeting. Originally scheduled to be held November 29 to December 1, the meeting will now take place from December 15 to December 18.

Jajarkot earthquake: Over 1,000 houses completely damaged

In the aftermath of a powerful 6.4-magnitude earthquake that shook Jajarkot, the region has been left reeling with the complete destruction of over 1,000 houses. The disaster has not spared Rukum West either, with more than 3,000 houses destroyed, including in Jajarkot, leaving a trail of devastation in its wake.
