PM Dahal lost political and moral ground to remain in office: UML

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has emphatically stated that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has forfeited his political and moral legitimacy to continue holding office.

During the UML’s parliamentary party meeting held at its office in the Federal Parliament building in New Baneswor on Wednesday, the paryt decided that Prime Minister Dahal’s recent statement was objectionable and warrants a strong protest within both the parliament and street.

It should be noted that during a book release event on Sunday, Prime Minister Dahal made remarks suggesting that Sardar Pritam Singh had made repeated visits to Delhi in an attempt to secure the position of Prime Minister for Dahal.

The UML called an emergency meeting of the parliamentary party before the meeting of the House of Representatives saying that the Prime Minister has made objectionable statements.

“This is not a private matter of the Prime Minister, it is a matter related to the self-respect of the country. The Prime Minister who states he was made Prime Minister from outside the parliament does not have the political or moral ground to be in Office anymore,” UML Whip in the parliament Mahesh Bartaula said on Wednesday.

He termed the expression as immoral and unacceptable.
