Janaki Temple Mahanta calls on Prime Minister Dahal



KATHMANDU: A team led by Mahanta Pujyapad Ramroshan Das of the Janaki temple in Dhanusha called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and drew his attention toward the need for the preservation and development of various temples in the district.

During the meeting held today at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, the priests of various temples in the Dhanusa district were present.

Various aspects related to the temples and shrines in different places of the country, including the Janaki temple, were discussed during the meeting, said CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Rahwar Ansari.

The Prime Minister took a deep interest in the matters raised by the Mahanta and other priests and has given assurances for a necessary initiative towards that end.

Similarly, the Prime Minister also said that society and the nation at large will benefit if the issues related to religion are dealt with not only in the traditional way but also by linking it to humanitarian work relevant to the present times.
