Filing of nominations for NA Vice Chairperson taking place today

KATHMANDU: Parties are filing nominations for the National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairperson today.

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, candidates can file their nominations at the Parliament Building, New Baneshwor from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday.

The list of candidates will be published at 4:15 pm and the election will be held tomorrow (Monday).

The post of the Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly was lying vacant after the completion of the term of Sasikala Dahal, NA Vice Chairperson.

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has decided to file a nomination for the NA Vice Chairperson but has not announced the name.

Even the ruling parties are yet to announce the name of the candidate.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the opposition parties, including the Nepali Congress, is being held on Sunday to pick a consensus candidate for the Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly.
