KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has set conditions to participate in the government, including declaring a public holiday on Prithvi Jayanti.

RPP has demanded that the government should include its demand for leave on Poush 27 (December 11) in the Common Minimum Program (CMP).

RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden said his party has already put forth some conditions to support the Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda-led government.

It has demanded four ministries, including a Deputy Prime Minister in the cabinet.

The party, which has 14 parliamentarians in the House of Representatives (HoR), is of the position that its agenda should be included in the CMP.

RPP Chairman Lingden has been attending the meetings of the top leaders of the ruling coalition partners.

Prime Minister Prachanda is se to take a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives on January 10.

Prachand was appointed the Prime Minister according to sub-section 2 of Article 76 of the Constitution with the support of two or more parties.

A vote of confidence must be taken within 30 days after the appointment of the Prime Minister.

PM Prachanda has said he would expand the cabinet after taking the vote of confidence.

RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha said that the party would participate in the government if their demands, including giving a holiday on Prithvi Jayanti, were included in the CMP.

Meanwhile, sources said that the party is set to join the government.
