Bail hearing on fake Bhutanese refugee scam begins today

KATHMANDU: Bail hearing of the 18 individuals accused in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam has begun at the District Court Kathmandu today.

All 18 arrested in the case have been produced in Court (Sunday).

A single bench of District Judge Prem Prasad Neupane is scheduled to hear the cases.

They have been produced to the District Court as the bail hearing begins today.

All the arrested individuals, including former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Bhutanese refugee leader Teknath Rijal, Indrajit Rai, Angtawa Sherpa, Shamsher Miya, Tek Narayan Pandey, Sanu Bhandari, Govinda Chaudhary and Ram Sharan KC have been produced in the court for bail hearing.

Others include Sandesh Sharma, Narendra KC, Tanka Gurung, Sagar Rai, Keshav Dulal, Laxmi Maharjan and Hari Bhakta Maharjan.

After the hearing, the court will decide whether to release them on bail or put them in the prison for further investigation.
